The following are the minimum PC requirements for for CableAmerica Broadband Service.
IBM & Compatible PCs
- Pentium 200 MHZ processor or faster
- 32 MegaBytes of RAM
- Windows 95 OS or newer
- Web Browser, i.e. Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator*
Macintosh (Apple) Computers
- PowerPC 80 MHZ processor or better
- 16 MegaBytes of RAM ( 32 recommended )
- Mac OS 7.5.3 or higher
- Web Browser, i.e. Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator*
Compatible Cable Modems
With CableAmerica's Broadband Internet Services, you will need a cable modem. You will have the option to lease a cable modem from
CableAmerica for a monthly fee, purchase a cable modem from CableAmerica, or purchase a cable modem from a third party vendor such as Best Buy or Comp USA.

Most DOCSIS 1.0 compatible cable modems should work on our network however this is not always the case.
We have had good success with some cable modems while others perform poorly. If you are purchasing a cable modem, check for the
CableLabs Certified logo.
