High Definition T.V.   HD Requirements

To enjoy all the benefits of CableAmerica's HDTV service, and to ensure that your installation experience goes smoothly, you will need to have the following:

If you don't already have one, you will need to purchase an HD television set. HD-Ready and HD-Capable television sets will both function properly with CableAmerica's service.

In order to receive HDTV, you can lease an HDTV converter from CableAmerica. This converter is designed to receive HD programming in addition to our standard programming. CableAmerica HDTV service requires a component audio/video cord (also known as a Y PB PR cord) to connect the HD converter to your HDTV. The component audio/video cords have three plugs for the video input. You will also need two RCA connectors for the audio connection between the HD converter and your HDTV.

Before purchasing your cables, determine where you wish to locate your equipment and the relative distances so you'll know how much cable to purchase.
