Our History

CableAmerica has been developing and operating cable television systems since 1971. The orginal cable television operation began in the Upper Peninsula of Michagan, growing out of an electronic equipment business owned by the principals of CableAmerica serving the upper Midwest states. The company remains in the ownership of the original principals, which helps insure that the quality customer service and technical proficiency that the Company is known for is upheld.

The Company has successfully developed cable television systems in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee. CableAmerica currently operates systems in Michigan and Missouri under the name CableAmerica, a name we trademarked in 1993.

The Company has a long history of technical innovations, from the purchase of the first 5-meter Scientific Atlanta satellite signal receiver dish (Serial Number 0000001) to the use of microwave and later fiber optics to traverse great distances and improve picture quality. CableAmerica also created one of the first dedicated medical networks "mednet" in conjunction with Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, Alabama and was the first broadband company to deploy High Speed Internet to Mesa, Arizona.

The Company serves approximately 50,000 subscribers and provides cable television service to approximately 25 communities and military bases. Construction of new cable television plants continue in the communities where expansion is taking place.

The Company prides itself on never compromising customer service and technical prowess. Customer service is available 24/7 with every customer having access to all levels of management to have their concerns addressed. CableAmerica endeavors to lead in offering our customers the latest demanded services including a wide array of digital cable services, high speed Internet access and digital phone service.
