The speed and quantity of data that can be sent across a particular line depends on bandwidth capacity. Bandwidth is simply the amount of information that travels across a line. Traditionally, telephone lines have been used to transmit data. Because telephone lines have limited bandwidth capacity, they are often slow and cumbersome when transferring large amounts of information.
Broadband, a method of quickly sending and receiving large amounts of information, is a technology that keeps pace with today's busy lifestyles.

Broadband gives you true Internet experience. It also offers you a high-quality connection - making collaborative computing, video conferencing, distance learning, VPN, e-commerce, and fast corporate e-mail downloads

CableAmerica Broadband Service delivers content directly to your personal computer via coaxial cable and a cable modem or transmitted wirelessly. Broadband Internet allows you to navigate the World Wide Web at blazing speeds.
DSL, or Digital Subscriber Line, is a modem technology that transforms ordinary phone lines (also known as "twisted copper pairs") into high-speed digital lines for Internet access. You must have a DSL modem and live within a certain distance of your telephone company's central office to get DSL Internet service.

|
Most DOCSIS 1.0 compatible cable modems should work on our network however this is not always the case.
We have had good success with some cable modems while others perform poorly. If you are purchasing a cable modem, check for the
CableLabs Certified logo.

To help you understand web hosting, we have developed a simple analogy. But first, some definitions:
Web Site - a group of files and programs that reside on a very robust computer connected to the Internet.
Web Server - a computer that stores the files and programs that make up the site, and then allows visitors to access and read those files.
Web Host - an interconnected group of web servers containing web site data, that other computers can access through the Internet. Web hosts also provide technical resources and web site maintenance.
Now, think of a web host as a landlord. A landlord builds and maintains the structure, then rents storefronts to various businesses that otherwise cannot afford their own buildings.
Each business decorates and operates their store differently and leaves building maintenance to the landlord. Likewise, a web host rents space on a web server to various businesses.
Each business builds its own web site while the web host maintains the network of web servers
