How the Lake Superior Cam works


The Camera 
The camera is pointed towards the west. The video output of the camera is fed into a RF modulator that converts the video signal into a radio frequency (RF) 
The Head End 
The image is then fed out onto the cable system on channel 43.
The Uplink 
This computer is connected to a VCR that is tuned to channel 43. The video output of the VCR is then converted to digital (JPG file) using a Snappy video to digtital convertor. SnapCap is  the software that automatically copies a new picture and uploads it to our web server in Georgia.
